Deborah receives top rating from Society of Thoracic Surgeons
Deborah Heart and Lung Center received the highest designation given from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, only given to 7 percent of cardiac programs across the United States and Canada.
Deborah received the society’s three-star rating for its patient care and outcomes in its coronary artery bypass grafting surgery.
“We are absolutely thrilled that Deborah’s quality measures have resulted in the hospital being among the very elite in the country for heart bypass surgery,” Dr. Paul Burns, Deborah’s chair of surgery, said in a statement. “Considering that over 3,800 participating physicians, representing more than 90 percent of the groups that perform heart surgery nationwide, submitted data to the Adult Cardiac Surgery Database underscores the quality of our patient care and outcomes.”
The rating is based on data analysis from the hospital’s coronary artery bypass grafting surgeries performed from July 2017 to June. According to Deborah, the three-star rating represents one of the “most respected professional benchmarks for quality cardiac surgery in the United States and Canada.”
